The Hajibeyli International Composition Competition 2021 Finalists Announcement

Dear competitors,

I am grateful to all of you for your efforts, your interest in the music of the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli. We received a total of fifty-one works comprising twenty-six countries from four continents. These are the USA, Japan, China, Taiwan, Canada, UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, Mexico, Iran, Kuwait, Turkey, Israel, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. Our honorable Board of qualified Jury studied entries very carefully, selecting the best of the best. The name of the Hajibeyli encouraged musicians around the world, and as a result number of excellent compositions emerged.

On behalf of the organizing committee and the entire Jury, we would like to thank every one of you for your valuable contributions and for making it a success. The Award ceremony and the Gala concerts will take place on September 23 at 7 PM at the Mugham Center in Baku, Azerbaijan and on November 5 at 7 PM at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center in New York. The Gala program will feature works of the competition winners and the original compositions by Hajibeyli.
