Nargiz Aliyarova, Jury Chair

New York-based artist Nargiz Aliyarova is an international pianist and professor. Since her first concert at the age of nine, Aliyarova has been on stage as a soloist, collaborative musician as well as a performer with chamber and symphonic orchestras in over 40 cities around the world. Her repertoire includes music ranging from baroque to contemporary. She had her Lincoln Center debut in 2018, Carnegie Hall debut in March 2022, whilst in November 2022 she had her Stern Auditorium Carnegie Hall debut.

Aliyarova was awarded a diploma for “Outstanding contribution to the legacy of Chopin” by the Government of Poland in 2010. She has produced five CDs, three of which were released by the Belgian Recording company Etcetera.

In 2008, Aliyarova was named a Laureate in the Pietro Argento 11th International Competition held in Italy. In the same year, she was declared “Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan Republic”. Aliyarova has participated in many international festivals including the 48th International Contemporary Music Congress (Darmstadt, Germany); IV, VI, and VIII U.Hajibeyli International Festival; “Silk Way”; and III and VI Gabala International Festival, “Phonex” (Cologne, Germany).

Nargiz Aliyarova is a Doctor of Art and Professor, as well as an author of more than 20 scholarly articles and several books. She has been teaching piano and chamber music at Baku Music Academy for twenty-five years.

Aliyarova is the president and founder of The National Music & Global Culture Society, which aims to be the bridge for connecting communities to global and multinational culture through classical music. NMGCS competition held in 2021 was dedicated to the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli and the second NMGCS International Composition competition held in 2022 were dedicated to 100th anniversary of another Azerbaijani composer, Fikret Amirov. Aliyarova also served as President of The Zonta of New York, a global women’s organization from 2018 to 2020

Aleksandr Snytkin, Juror

Lithuanian-American violinist Aleksandr Snytkin has been praised by critics as “an emerging virtuoso with delicate touch and a sense of intimacy, technical and artistic maturity.” Snytkin was born in 1977 in Potsdam, Germany and began his musical education at the age of seven, studying violin at the B. Dvarionas Music School. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Lithuanian Music Academy and Malmo Music Academy (Sweden).  In 2001, Snytkin came to the United States to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Kansas and later continued his education at the Southern Methodist University Artist Certificate program in Dallas, TX.

Snytkin has been soloist with several chamber orchestras in his native country, as well as being an active chamber musician, performing at festivals and participating in competitions in Lithuania, France, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Austria, Israel and the United States. He made his American orchestral solo debut, performing the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Springfield (Missouri) Symphony Orchestra, as a result of his winning the Hellam Young Artists Competition. He has also performed with many renowned musicians such as members of Accorda String Quartet (Kansas City), pianist Stanislav Ioudenitch, violinist Anne Akiko Meyers, violist Mikhail Iakovlev, Hansa String Quartet (Norway) and is a founding member of the ART Piano Trio (Lithuania) and the Emerald Piano Trio (Dallas, TX).  Snytkin is a member of “I Palpiti” International Chamber Orchestra, former member of Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and served as guest concertmaster in the Irving and Plano Symphony Orchestras and the Bergen Philharmonic (Norway).

After serving as an assistant concertmaster of the Bergen Philharmonic in Norway for the 2009/10 season, Snytkin returned to become a permanent member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.  He frequently performs in various chamber music groups and is a member of the PLUS string quartet. Most recent solo performances include Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.

Blagomira Lipari, Juror

Blagomira Lipari is a versatile solo, chamber, and orchestral musician. Most recently, she was awarded the “Ivan Vazov” Bulgarian national medal for her significant contribution to Bulgarian art and culture around the world. Blagomira was a preliminary 2018 Grammy Award nomineefor the CD “Music Here and Now,” by Society for New Music, Innova Records of American Composers Forum. She gave the New York State Premier and Second performance of Robert Xavier Rodriguez’s “Xochiquetzal” Concerto for Violin and Six Percussion. Mrs. Lipari hasbeen a soloist with the National Academy of Music Orchestra in Bulgaria, ShumenPhilharmonic, Orfei Chamber Orchestra, and New Millennium Orchestra in Chicago. Mrs. Lipari’s performances have been featured on Bulgarian, Spanish and US National Television, WCNY-FM 91.3 Syracuse, NY, and WFMT in Chicago. Mrs. Lipari co-founded the New Millennium Orchestra of Chicago and served as its Concertmaster. As a chamber musician Mrs. Lipari serves on the executive board of National Music & Global Culture Society in New York City. She has also served as co-chair and violinist of Bulgarian Concert Evenings of New York and has been a member of Access Contemporary Music Ensemble, CUBE ensemble, and the Society for New Music. As a solo and chamber musician she has given many world premieres at prestigious venues such as Symphony Center Chicago, Stanford University, University of Chicago, Columbia College Chicago, Pritzker Pavilion, Harris Theater, and Paris Conservatory. She has collaborated with members of Chicago Symphony, Metropolitan Opera, International Chamber Players, and International Contemporary Ensemble. A devoted and passionate teacher, Blagomira Lipari has been a violin professor and music ensemble director atSherwood-Columbia College in Chicago, Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY, and Hobart & William Smith Colleges. She has also been on the faculties of Merit School of Music Chicago, Hinsdale Center for the Arts, and the First Conservatory. Mrs. Lipari was the exceptional prize winner of the International Chamber Music Competition in Neerpelt, Belgiumin 1989. Mrs. Lipari holds a Doctoral degree in violin performance with a minor in orchestral conducting.
